Digital Camera Technology has done away with the need for conventional film.
Instead pictures are saved in file form on memory modules in one of three possible formats
Which ever type of card used, pictures are of good quality and depending on the memory size of the card determines , how many pictures can be stored on it . Bear in mind the lower the picture resolution the lest memory it will use and therefore the more pictures you will be able to store on your card . Lower picture resolution means less picture quality.
Once you have taken your pictures ,they can be reviewed instantly if your camera is equipped with LCD display and then the worst picture's erased.
Best of all no waiting for your pictures and no need to have pictures developed by a professional.
Transferring Picture's
Once you have your pictures , images can ;
Be Transferred to your computer through a USB 1.1 port direct from the camera
Be transferred from a memory card with a card reader attached to USB 1.1 ,parallel port or serial port
Be transferred with a memory card adapter which fit's in a PCMCIA slot or Floppy disk drive
A Pc or Laptop equipped with built in card reader
Be printed direct with new type printer's , which have a card reader built in
Remember you will need a photo quality printer to produce good results !
Under a modern windows operating system card readers will be listed as another drive on your Pc and image files can be moved and copied like any file on a hard drive.
Ideally you should open files within a photo editing software such as paint shop pro 7 or photo suite 4.This will enable you to enhance and edit images to exactly what you require.
