The advantage of wireless technology is it allows you to form a network together without the need for interconnecting wiring this can reduce the cost of installation and it also gives easy setup and more mobility.

Although this is a great solution , there are disadvantages you must consider before deciding on wireless !

These are the main problems

• Power consumption is high and this can be a problem for devices that depend on batteries such as laptop's
• As radio signals are used ,your network could suffer with interference from other signals nearby
• Security could be weak if no encryption used and it possible someone else near could pickup your network signal and access your network
• Signal strength may not always be optimal and you may have problems accessing your network at times
• The exact layout of the network maybe outside the control of the network administrator
