Spam is a form of junk email sent to all user's ,filling up
inbox's with such thing's as unwanted advertisements.
Spammer's either companies or individuals are using clever
tactic's to get their spam into your inbox i.e. using different or fake email
addresses .
this prevents you from simply blocking the sender in your
email program.
software developers have wrote various tools to help prevent
excessive spam reaching your inbox.
these include spam filters and anti-spam programs these block
spam email and sometimes send back to the spammer with a address does not exist
message .
Spam has become such a problem now that countries are changing
the law as below.
- US federal lawmakers are finally giving serious
consideration on passing an anti-SPAM bill. In the last five years, various
bills have been given to the US Congress for evaluation. This year, more than
three different bills are being assessed.
- The US state of Virginia has passed the strongest anti-SPAM
law in the US to date. California is following suit with a similar law that
makes Spamming a criminal offence.
- The British government will be implementing EU guidelines
on opt-in marketing by the end of this year. In Europe, opt-in is the only
acceptable form of email marketing.
- South Korea learned the hard way that opt-out doesn't work.
The existing opt-out law has more or less failed to stem SPAM received by
Koreans.
- Australia is considering instituting anti-SPAM legislation
following a spate of bank scams
perpetrated through SPAM.
